Honey

Sorry that I had to cut you off this morning..but i really had to rush.

Just heard from RCM, they are quite nice that they wrote a long email to make sure that they answered to all my questions. If this were other schools, they would just provide me the link and tell me to ckeck them out myself. lol

So I guess I can never study in a conservatoire...

Love,
Hsin-Ting

Subject: RE: Enquiry about Graduate Diploma, Singer
To: Hsin-Ting Wang <wanght.lse@googlemail.com>

Dear Sandra

For the Graduate Diploma (which is for singers only), normally students already have an undergraduate degree in music and this course offers them an opportunity to improve their technique and education prior to beginning postgraduate study.  Occasionally, students join the Graduate Diploma without an undergraduate degree in music.  In this case, entry would be on the basis of a successful audition and their demonstration of appropriate musical knowledge and ability.

The BMus degree is a full-time undergraduate degree which lasts for four years.  To enter, applicants must have:

*A Level Music at grade C or above (most students achieve grade A or B) and either –

>a second A Level at grade E or above, or

>two AS levels both at grade C or above (not including Music)

If you do not have these qualifications you may still be considered for entry if, again, you can demonstrate an appropriate level or musical knowledge and literacy.  You may be tested for this at audition.  Alternative qualifications for overseas students would be the European or International Baccalaureate or other equivalent international qualifications.

Students do not normally enrol on the BMus programme on a part-time basis.  This has been offered exceptionally to students to address a particular concern.  For this reason, I am not sure how long it would take to complete the BMus degree as a part-time student.  You would need to apply for this programme on a full-time basis and discuss the possibility of part-time study at audition.

I hope this answers your queries.  Please do not hesitate to contact us again should you have further questions.

With kind regards

Tania
